The Vintage is written, designed and photographed by students.
This year’s theme is based on a book: The Valley of Vision: A Collection of Puritan Prayers & Devotions. The Valley of Vision is especially relevant to students because Bennett, the author and a university professor, dedicated the book to a college audience.
The beautiful text of the opening poem, “The Valley of Vision,” crosses generational gaps with deep and convicting truths about the nature of paradox in our spiritual lives. Some days in the past year have been mountaintops, with new friendships and new opportunities. Others have been valleys, with closed doors and difficult decisions. We chose “Valley of Vision” as this year’s theme because the poems in Bennett’s work speak to a reality we all experience:
We see God most clearly when we are at our lowest.
We pray that our student body will continue to grow to be more like Christ through the Word, trials in our own lives and the testimonies of others. We hope that this catalogue of memories will be a reminder of what our Great God did during the 2014-15 academic year and how He brought each of us through our own valleys of vision.
